Team Ministry Application Form

You have to be either a registered adult member (who has completed New Family Class) or a youth who is in grade 9 and up to apply for team ministry positions.

*Some teams require extra qualifications due to the nature of their ministry or the people they minister to.

Tip: * Choose ONE team and then choose roles you are interested in serving from the dropdown. (if not listed, just choose "Team Member" in the team you want to join and explain in the comment section.)

Reason for extra process & qualifications (For Vocal & Instrument)

Given the unique demands of praise team ministry, which require both musical skill and essential qualities such as spirituality, humility, and team chemistry, as well as the significant weekly impact on the congregation's worship experience—both sonically and spiritually—joining a praise team should involve a more rigorous selection process. This is not to promote elitism but to ensure the fullest benefit of the entire congregation.

Extra qualifications

  • Baptism / Confirmation
  • Living Life completion (for adults) / One youth bible study completion (for youth)
  • Grade 11 and up (for youth)
  • Adequate musical skill to play on the stage immediately or through minimal practice

Audition Process Overview:

  • 1st Stage: Video-Recording Audition
  • 2nd Stage: In-person Interview
  • 3rd Stage: Team Audition

1st Stage: Video-recording Audition

  • The video should include:

    • Brief introduction of yourself

    • Reason for applying

    • Performance of a song of choice (must be the song we currently sing on Sunday)

  • The video link should be sent through email at praise@theseedmc.ca

  • Once praise team leadership reviews your submitted video to assess your current musical skill/gift, you will be contacted of the result after the review, whether you are encouraged to apply again next year or move on to the in-person interview.

2nd Stage: In-Person Interview

  • To get to know in detail the applicant's experience, faith, passion and character
  • In-person assessment of performance (of song the leadership chose)

  • If the person passes, you will be invited to the team audition

3rd Stage: Team Audition

  • Band setting assessment of ability to play with each other on stage.

*As the process could take more than 3 weeks, you will be permitted to join another team even after the ministry month ends if you don't make the team.

Expected Commitments (for Sound Crews)

  • Take sound training course offered online (operation of a mixer and general principles of church sound)

  • Take part in sound equipment set-up every Sunday

  • Participate in pre-Sunday service practice

Tip: By agreeing, you are submitting to the decision of the praise team leadership, and promising to keep a sweet, teachable spirit regardless of the result :)

Tip: If you are infant baptized, you need to be confirmed.

Tip: If you have any questions or if you can't find roles you are interested above, indicate how you want to serve here.
